Remarks: There is a similar painting in the museum of Busapest, published by Stefan Kozakiewicz. That painting is smaller than the one here presented, less rich in figures and perhaps, judging from the photo, of lesser quality (cf. Stefan Kozakiewicz, Bernardo Bellotto, Milano 1972 vol II p. 464, fig. A331. Kozakiewicz dates the Budapest picture 1740 – 1745, and gives it to an artist from Canaletto's circle. Like the Master of the Langmatt Foundation, Appolonio Domenichini, who seems to be a possible candidate for our two paintings.
